When I reached a point where I didn’t know who I was or what I was worth, I was guided to look at my roots. By exploring and uncovering the past in depth, I unearthed extraordinary stories so close to home. I researched on the history of Vietnam, together with asking my parents on their parents’ accounts and experiences. Also, gaining a renewed appreciation for my ancestors. In the same way my grandmother risked her life to save her father, the way my parents migrated over here for a better life, my father learning English in three months to enrol at Nottingham Trent university … though it looks differently, the strength has been inherited and inspires me to use my voice today. My Ba calls me Luc Si Bo Bo. This is a nickname my Ba made up, which means strong little seed. Although small, I can make a huge difference. Now, watch me bloom 🌱
